The ET/R2816 is a high-end bandwidth management system which can meet your high density or high capacity needs with redundant P/S and up to 4 cores capable of processing 8 simultaneous threads with Hyperthreading. A fully loaded R2816 Gigabit Appliance can manage up to 4Gb/s of traffic. The base system includes a dual port 82575 gigabit ethernet bypass card and can optionally be equipped with a second bypass card to handle 2 full gigabit streams. The ET/R2816 includes a second hard drive that is maintained as a backup. Should your first disk fail, you can simply swap the drive and reboot and you'll be up and running. Optionally, the system can be equipped with 4 drives that can be rotated on various backup schedules.
